by isleofman.com 26th October 2017

The IOMLTA Presentation Night will be held at Albany this year on Saturday 11th November starting at 7.30pm. I do hope all those who have played in the league matches will attend to collect their medals and trophies. This year it's a fish or sausage and chips meal (?12) and we need to know your choice of meal before the 9 November. Cheques payable to Albany LTC.  Send details to albanytennispr@manx.net and leave cheques in the white box.

An Isle of Man Club Forum will be held at the club on Tuesday 21 November starting at 6pm. Paul Bennett (Head of LTA North Region) will be here to answer any tennis queries members from all the Island's clubs may have. If you have a matter you wish to raise please let me know and I will pass it on to the IOMLTA Secretary, Jackie Russell. This forum could be of benefit and interest to parents of club juniors also new members.

Latest news on Charlotte Clarke (12) who has been playing in Widnes. So far she has won the 12 and under event. She also played in 14 and under losing her 1st match 7/5 3/6 (9-11). In the 14 and under Consolation, she won 3 matches to win that competition. Then on to Birchwood to play an under 16 event  to give her more competitive experience. She lost her 1st match against the No 2 seed, who has a 5.2 rating whereas Charlotte is 5.8. This loss moved her to the consolation event where she won her 1st match. Playing again Thursday. She was sponsored for this event by Equiom (Isle of Man) Limited.

A reminder that the club would like ALL members to join the British Tennis Membership scheme. It's free and you will be able to OPT IN to the Wimbledon Ballot for 2018. You can find all the info on the LTA website/British Tennis Membership. British Tennis Awards 2017 - Also those who already have a BTM no are invited to vote, on line for  someone in the club who you think is an unsung worker for the club. Again details are on the LTA website and all members should have received e-mailed info.

Finally - please pray for fine weather on Sunday. The club is hosting the annual triangular match between Albany, Castletown and Ramsey. Castletown are the current holders and Albany would like some support for their efforts to try and win it back.
