by isleofman.com 6th November 2017

Overnight Wednesday 25th into Thursday 26th October 2017 a burglary occurred at Kennaugh & Skinner, Athol Place, Port Erin during which a fire also took a hold.

During this burglary a safe was stolen and this has subsequently been recovered by Police.

A local male has been arrested in relation to this matter and he has been bailed pending further enquiries whilst investigations continue.

Investigating officers from the Criminal Investigation Department are satisfied that there is no further risk to the public or any premises at this time with regards to this male.

Police would like to re-assure the public that enquiries are ongoing and we would urge any member of the public to come forward if they feel they have any information regarding this matter or if they may have witnessed anything which they feel is suspicious in this area overnight 25th into 26th October, no matter how insignificant they feel it may be.
