Parents/carers of children under five are invited to take part in a survey on nursery, childcare and pre-school in the Isle of Man.

The Government is committed to increasing the number of pre-school places across the Island and to raising pre-school credit, paid to parents in the year their child turns four.

The Department of Education and Children’s survey asks parents how accessible and affordable they find nursery, childcare and pre-school.

Graham Cregeen MHK, Minister for Education and Children, said: ‘At election, I said I would investigate whether children would benefit if pre-school worked with, or alongside, the education system.

‘I am pleased that we are able to expand on these proposals and incorporate nursery and childcare, too.

‘We first need to gather feedback from parents over the availability and accessibility of nursery, childcare and pre-school.

‘The survey findings will help us to work with providers to develop these services and I would encourage parents to take part.’
