Tynwald Christmas carol service

by isleofman.com 20th November 2017

The Tynwald Christmas carol service will be held at the Church of St Mary of the Isle, Hill Street, Douglas at 1.10pm on Thursday December 14.

The President of Tynwald, Steve Rodan MLC, invites members of the public and the local business community to join members and officers of Tynwald for the service, for which music will be provided by the Tynwald choir and the Isle of Man Government staff choir.

Extending the invitation Mr Rodan said: ‘For many, the run-up to Christmas is a very busy time. The Tynwald carol service, though, offers a precious quiet hour in which to pause, reflect and come together to celebrate Christmas in music, song and prayer and in this I should like to express my sincere gratitude to Monsignor John Devine for his hospitality at St Mary of the Isle.  Everyone will be most welcome to attend the service then join with members and officers afterwards for a cup of tea and a mince pie. ‘

A collection will be made during the service which is expected to finish at approximately 2pm.
