St Thomas Guides support Rebecca House

by isleofman.com 20th November 2017

St Thomas Guides raised ?900 for Rebecca House Children’s Hospice from numerous fundraising events which started in February to celebrate Rebecca House’s 10th birthday.

St Thomas Guides, which consists of 27 girls and 3 leaders, chose to support Rebecca House as they wanted to help children and give them exciting opportunities like the girls have being part of guides.

The fundraising activities included a sponsored 10km run and walk along Douglas Promenade. The run and walk included additional elements such as putting someone into the recovery position, doing a cheerleader chant, completing 10 star jumps and other challenges. The guides also completed 10 other fundraising activities for their local hospice.

Sharon Connor from hospice said “The amount raised is phenomenal and in such an imaginative way by including the 10th Birthday celebration, thank you to all the girls for taking part and raising money for Rebecca House”
