Gala dinner to celebrate 60 years of the Isle of Man competing in the Commonwealth Games

Isle of Man Commonwealth Games Association is holding a black-tie gala dinner to celebrate 60 years of Island athletes taking part in the Games.

Tickets are on sale now for the wonderful evening of celebrations to send Team Isle of Man to the 2018 Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Guests will enjoy a champagne reception followed by a three course dinner, which will take place on Thursday 15th February 2018 in the Royal Hall at the Villa Marina.

The evening will involve the raffle of “Borobi”, the 90cm games mascot, which one lucky person will be taking home. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase on the evening, or by emailing cgaiom2014@gmail.com

Basil Bielich, President of the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games Association, said: ‘The Isle of Man has now been competing in the Games for 60 years and this event will celebrate our participation.

‘Join us to Share the Dream and wish our athletes every success as they prepare for the Gold Coast. We would encourage anyone thinking about joining the celebrations to reserve a table before all tickets are gone!’

Tables of ten are available for ?1,000 (per table), and individual tickets can also be purchased. To reserve your tickets email: cgaiomgaladinner@gmail.com.  

The 2018 Commonwealth Games will commence on 4th April in Australia’s Gold Coast, which will temporarily be home to 6,500 athletes and team officials from more than 70 nations. The Isle of Man is hoping to send 32 of its finest sportsmen and women to compete in 12 different sports.
