Manx Telecom VR data centre tour is a big hit at DataCentres Ireland

by isleofman.com 30th November 2017

Visitors to Manx Telecom’s stand at the DataCentres Ireland exhibition and conference took part in a virtual reality tour of the company’s twin Tier 3 designed data centres, Douglas North and Greenhill.

The expo attracted 70 exhibitors and gave attendees access to the latest information about industry best practice, products, services and solutions. Manx Telecom’s virtual reality tour generated significant interest in the company’s hosting proposition during the event which was held in Dublin on November 22nd and 23rd.

The company was represented at DataCentres Ireland by Fergal McKenna (Sales Director) and Dale White (Business Development Manager). In addition to welcoming guests to the Manx Telecom stand they took part as expert panellists in Q&A discussions which created some excellent opportunities to highlight Manx Telecom’s growing reputation as a trusted provider of colocation, cloud and managed services to major businesses, including global insurance companies, payment providers, global investment banks, world renowned e-gaming companies, and public sector organisations.

Fergal McKenna, Manx Telecom Sales Director, commented: “Manx Telecom’s secure data centre proposition – built on two world class data centres located on the Isle of Man, which is almost equidistant between Ireland and UK – was well received. DataCentres Ireland was extremely busy, and demonstrated that Ireland and Europe are potential markets for certain technical services for an Isle of Man based company like Manx Telecom.”

The Manx Telecom team also promoted the advantages which the Isle of Man offers for hosting clients, both in terms of it being a forward-thinking international business centre, and the advantages provided by the Island’s location which offers an added layer of security, with the absence of some of the physical security risks associated with data centres in major cities. For hosting clients in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man’s close proximity and excellent airline services to Dublin and Belfast are also plus points.
