Enhanced Track & Trace service by Post Office gives better visbility on deliveries

by isleofman.com 7th December 2017

Island residents can now monitor the progress of their shipment, via Isle of Man Post Office’s (IOMPO) enhanced online Track & Trace service.

Through this upgraded and easy-to-use service, if a customer wishes to track an item that is being delivered to them from either a local or overseas sender, they could enter the tracking number given to them by the sender, on IOMPO’s website (www.iompost.com/trackandtrace). If the item has arrived on Island, this will show up on the tracking system to the point of delivery or collection. If the customer is not at home and the item cannot be delivered, the website will show that a card has been left. By using the number on the card, the online system will confirm when the item can be collected.

Another new feature is the ‘What can I expect’ tab on the Track & Trace page, which allows customers to find out what tracking events they could expect from the various delivery companies and their products.

IOMPO General Manager for Mails, Geoff Rickard said, “We are continuously trying to improve our products and services, and especially the ways we provide our local customers with information. We hope that by giving customers improved visibility of items they are expecting, we are able to save them precious time because they will know in advance when their item is ready for collection or will be delivered to them.”

For those customers who are not able to pick up their item from the Post Office, they can arrange a redelivery of the item, by completing an online form. The item will then be redelivered after two working days.

Alternatively, customers can avoid having to pick up their items from the Post Office, by signing up to the Safe Place service, which allows customers to nominate an alternative delivery location, either on their property or at their neighbours.
