The Mannin Hotel is one of the first hotels in the Isle of Man to market its product through immersive virtual digitalisation technology.
The hotel joins clients including London’s five-star Corinthia Hotel, Tommy Hilfiger, Paris and, closer to home, the chambers of Tynwald, to use Wirral-based Hi-Impact Consultancy’s Wanda 3D technology as an online marketing tool.
Hi-Impact’s operations manager Simon Sloan said: ‘The Mannin Hotel is the first on the island to employ this technology to showcase their stunning lobby, reception area, bar lounge, restaurant and even the kitchens.
‘The hotel has also had virtual tours created of six different room examples so that potential guests can truly appreciate the scale and nature of the rooms before making their booking choice. The really powerful part of using Wanda 3D is that we embed interactive tags into our models, giving virtual visitors the ability to click on an object or area and be taken to a reservation page, online menu or even a video. From each tour of the Mannin’s bedrooms you can link to the hotel's booking site, and from their restaurant you can book a table or browse the menus and wine lists.
‘In short, Wanda 3D is transforming how hotels, event venues and heritage sites all over the world market their spaces. We create a perfectly-to-scale 3D model of a space using infrared scanning technology and, by overlaying high-resolution images on to this model, we create a navigable virtual tour, allowing online visitors to fully explore the site as if they were there in person.’
