The Dandara Group is once again supporting The Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal, which provides help and support to those in need in the Isle of Man over the festive period.
Every year the charitable organisation provides food, toys and gifts to hundreds of families and vulnerable individuals across the Island, who otherwise would not have the means to celebrate Christmas.
This is the third year the Island’s leading property developer has supported the appeal, increasing its financial backing each year. The donation will be used to buy toys, gifts and chocolates for those in need, and to provide the Boxing Day meal which the charity hosts for those who are elderly or alone at Christmas.
Captain Simon Clampton of the Salvation Army said: ‘We are always humbled by the public response to our Christmas Appeal and very grateful for their support. However, the growing number of local people needing our assistance means that we are now working harder than ever to ensure that everyone who is referred to us will receive help over the festive period.
Dandara’s donation will allow us to give even more people in our community the means to celebrate Christmas. We have been overwhelmed by the company’s support, which will once again make such a difference to local families, as well as vulnerable and elderly individuals.’
Seamus Nugent, Managing Director at Dandara, said: ‘Unfortunately, Christmas is not a time of celebration for everyone, and for a growing number of local people it is a time of hardship and loneliness. However, thanks to the work of charities including The Salvation Army, people within our community who most need help and support will not be forgotten this Christmas.
‘The work that the Salvation Army undertakes throughout the year, and particularly at Christmas is remarkable, and we are honoured to be able to help again this year.’
