by isleofman.com 19th December 2017

Manx Gas have had to obtain an emergency road closure for Athol Street, Port St Mary, between Athol Place and The Quay because of a gas escape from a low pressure main.

Work has started to identify the location of the escape and then carry out a repair or replacement of the section affected. No properties are affected and every effort will be made to effect a repair as quickly as possible however given current information it will be finished by Wednesday 20th December late afternoon on.

A spokesman for Manx Gas said: “Safety of the public and operations will be our priority and we will advise of any changes to the plan or timescale. We apologise to all those affected and ask for your patience whilst repairs are carried out. If any special requirements are needed by anyone affected please contact us direct on 644489.”
