The Christmas Treasure Hunt in the gardens at Milntown, in Lezayre, will be extended to run up to and include New Year’s Eve. Imogen’s father Liam Faragher is a gardener on the estate and his normal duties would have included setting out the treasure hunt. Now however his focus is on being with his daughter who has a cancerous brain tumour called an ependymoma. The family fly back to Germany for Proton Beam treatment next week.

The Christmas Treasure Hunt will now run until Sunday 31st December (except Tuesdays and Christmas Day), 10am - 3.30pm (last admission is 30 minutes prior to closing time). It will be a great way of getting out into the fresh air and burning off those extra Christmas calories.

There are 10 elves and presents hidden around the Milntown Gardens. Competition sheets are available in the Milntown Cafe.

Normal Garden entrance fees apply and we kindly ask for a ?1 donation (or more if you wish) to take part in the treasure hunt. There will be a donation box in the cafe.

50% of the garden admission fees and all donations will go to Liam and his family, with any money not used during treatment donated to Alder Hey, Ronald McDonald House, and the Naseem's Manx Brain Tumour Charity.

Estate Manager Richard Pinhorn said, “Our heart goes out to Liam and his family at this difficult time. We wanted to do something practical to help and by running a treasure hunt in the gardens up to New Year’s Eve we hope to raise some cash for them.”
