Leading offshore law firm Appleby is delighted to sponsor Manx Blind Welfare Society's participation in the Festival of Trees this Christmas, held at Isle of Man Airport.

The festival, organised by Save the Children, is an annual exhibition in which schools, businesses, charities and communities are invited to design and decorate a tree to raise awareness and money for various causes and charities.

The airport’s atrium is turned into a winter wonderland of festive trees, which compete to win votes from the Manx public.

This year, Appleby has donated a space to Manx Blind Welfare Society, a charity that provides assistance, services and support to almost 600 blind or partially-sighted people in the Isle of Man.

Claire Milne WS, partner and member of the Appleby Charitable Foundation, said: ‘We chose Manx Blind Welfare because it is a wonderful organisation that has an important impact on the lives of so many in our community. In addition, we are fortunate to have a longstanding relationship with the society.

Although we are a global law firm, supporting local charities is hugely important to us and the annual festival of trees is a fun venture which supports many local organisations. We are looking forward to seeing their tree standing proudly at Ronaldsway this Christmas season and would like to wish them the best of luck in the competition.'
