For the third consecutive year, the Best Western Palace Hotel are proud to again supported the Salvation Army Boxing Day Christmas meal. Every year the charitable organisation provides a Boxing Day meal to elderly and vulnerable individuals across the Island, who otherwise would not have the means to celebrate Christmas.
In a bid to assist the Salvation Army bring a traditional feast to some 90 local residents. The Palace Hotel provided a donation of potatoes, whilst the hotel kitchen staff volunteered their time to prepare the fresh roast turkey crowns and roast potatoes.
Gareth Capper, Senior General Manager at the Sefton group, remarked: It is once again a privilege to be in a position to donate our time, equipment and supplies in this joint community initiative especially at this time of year. The meal supplied on Boxing day really offers companionship and a touch of festive cheer to those who otherwise would be spending a Christmas alone.
Captains Simon & Carolyn Clampton, of the Salvation Army, commented: We are very appreciative of the help and support given to us by The Palace Hotel in their willingness to help us prepare our Christmas meal. At this current time the facilities we have are limited and knowing that our Turkey crowns were cooked safely has relieved a lot of the pressures which could be associated with this venture. In addition to the cooking of our turkey, the addition of trays full of roast potatoes all come together to help us prepare a delicious three course meal for our guests.
