This year will mark the 30th birthday of local carers’ charity Crossroads Care and to celebrate the milestone some of our island’s landmarks will be turning themselves blue.  From Monday 8 January the Tower of Refuge, Ramsey Swing Bridge and the local power stations will light themselves up blue.  This will help Crossroads mark the anniversary of the start of its support for local people with disabilities and care needs, and the people who look after them.  Manx Heritage have also offered to turn their Facebook page blue to celebrate local carers and 30 years of Crossroads.
 
Crossroads provide lots of services to lots of people all over the island including a nursery for children with disabilities, an employment project for adults with learning difficulties, a young carers project and domiciliary care for people who need help at home.
 
A year of awareness raising and events is planned and includes an open fundraising committee meeting at the British Hotel in Douglas on 29 January 2018 starting at 6pm.  Anyone can pop along and help us plan a year of events to celebrate local carers and the work we do.
