Storm Emma causes thousands of pounds of damage in Douglas

1,500 square metres of Douglas Promenade was damaged during Storm Emma last week.

The Department of Infrastructure says it’s currently removing the damaged areas of walkway and will resurface it this week.

The repair work will cost around ?30,000.  

The Manx Utilities Authority will replace sewerage tank covers before the new surface is laid.

The DOI says the sea wall has been inspected and there is no ‘significant damage’ – however damaged railings will be replaced at a cost of around ?12,000.
