Plea for people to take care around railway crossings

by isleofman.com 6th March 2018

Passenger numbers on the Island’s steam railway rose by 22 per cent last year.

That’s according to Isle of Man Transport which says it’s expecting another busy year in 2018.

Services resume between Douglas and Port Erin on Friday, March 9th.

Rail bosses are warning people to take extra care around the railway lines.

Head of operations Ian Bates says: "We would like to remind everyone from a safety view point that all our railway lines are open, with training and maintenance already taking place, therefore please display extra caution especially around the crossings on both the steam railway and electric railway".
