Dog owners warned to 'take the lead'

by isleofman.com 16th March 2018

Dog owners are being urged to ‘take the lead’ during lambing season.

Police are asking people to keep their pets on a lead during countryside walks.

They say the season is risky for the farm animals as the ewes can miscarry when worried by dogs – they are also at risk of being attacked, maimed or killed.

Officers say whilst they want everyone to enjoy the countryside people have to respect agricultural livestock and their environment.
