Bikers urged to check silencers

by isleofman.com 27th March 2018

Police are urging motorbike riders to check their machines before taking them out on the roads.

The Roads Policing Unit says two people stopped at the weekend were issued with defect notices.

Officers found their bikes were fitted with 'aftermarket silencers'.

Any motorbike made after April 1st 2003 must have a silencer with a BS or E number on it – if it doesn’t you’re committing an offence.
