Unconscious man rescued from beach in Douglas

by isleofman.com 28th March 2018

Douglas Lifeboat rescued an unconscious man from a secluded beach in Douglas yesterday.

They were called to Port Skillion Beach at 9.15am to assist the Coastguard and paramedics.

They'd secured the man on a back board and stretcher but due to access difficulties required the man to be evacuated via the water.

The casualty was transferred from the beach to a lifeboat dinghy and then to the main lifeboat – the man was then taken to Noble's Hospital.

Lifeboat Mechanic Peter Cowin says: "The efficient way the crew handled themselves is evidence of the regular training given by the RNLI."
