Emergency services praised for South Quay fire response

by isleofman.com 29th March 2018

Emergency services have been praised for their response to a serious fire in Douglas yesterday.

The Isle of Man's Chief Constable Gary Roberts took to Twitter to praise his staff, and those in the Fire and Rescue Service, after the incident on South Quay.

Firefighters were called into action just before 2.30pm after a fire started in an industrial unit.

It contained an electrical substation which meant crews couldn’t apply large amounts of water until the power supply was isolated.

No one was injured during the blaze.
