Economic impact of the TT to be assessed

by isleofman.com 17th April 2018

Benefits of the TT and Festival of Motorcycling will be reviewed as part of a new economic impact assessment.

The Cabinet Office wants to hear from people and organisations about their views of whether the road-racing events create a positive or negative economic impact.

The recommendation was approved during consideration of the Vision Nine report at the January sitting of Tynwald.

Researchers are keen to hear from businesses, charities, self-employed people and other groups who have a point of view.

MHK Alex Allinson says: "Since 1907 the TT and motorcycle racing has been an integral part of the Island's culture.

"This economic assessment is designed so that we can better understand the true costs and benefits road racing brings to the Island's economy."

Anyone wishing to submit evidence can do so by clicking HERE.

The deadline for submissions is May 18th.
