Empty nursing beds costing ?360K

Empty beds in a Douglas nursing home has cost government ?360,573.

That's according to the Health and Social Care Minister who released the figure in response to a Tynwald question.

Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper asked David Ashford how many unoccupied beds there were at Sailsbury Street Nursing Home.

Sailsbury Street opened on May 8th last year – to break even the department requires average occupancy to be at 75 per cent over the five-year agreement with the operator.
