Beach equipment to be installed in Port Erin

by isleofman.com 25th April 2018

New beach equipment is being installed on Port Erin beach this year.

Port Erin Commissioners are buying football goals and a volleyball net.

They'll be on the beach between May and September.

Chairman Nick Watterson says: "The Board wished to encourage further use of what it feels is the best beach on the Island and the provision of sports equipment is a great way to do this.

"It is envisaged that the equipment will be used by both casual and formal users.

"As such the Board has also purchased the regulation tape lines to mark out the pitch and court for any competitions.

"Any clubs or organisations wishing to stage any formal competitions throughout the summer should contact the office to discuss their requirements."

The football goals will be near to the Bay Hotel – the volleyball net will be near to the slipway on Strand Road.
