Child rescued from sand cliffs in Kirk Michael

by isleofman.com 2nd May 2018

People are being urged not to climb sand cliffs on the Isle of Man after a child got stuck.

Peel Coastguard was called into action in Kirk Michael just before 5pm on Sunday.

The child had called 999 for help – team members safely escorted them back to firm ground.

In a post on Facebook the Peel Coastguard team said they'd handed the child back to their waiting parents "who no doubt had their own advice to give".

The team says even though sand cliffs look fun to climb they're dangerous and land slides could happen at any time.
