More than ?400,000 could be spent replacing Peel Harbour Road Bridge.
Work is due to begin in September if planning approval is granted.
Plans for the bridge will be on display at the Town Hall on Derby Road from May 17th – officers from the Department of Infrastructure will be on hand to talk through them.
If approved work is expected to take 16 weeks – a temporary bridge will be used during that time.
The department says the work is essential as the current hardwood timber bridge – which was built in 1938 – has reached the end of its life.
If approved the new bridge will be a single span structure with a concrete deck on steel beams and will increase the capacity from 20 to 44 tonnes.
