Students at Ramsey Grammar School have spent a week remembering Manx soldiers who fought in the First World War.
The Island’s Lieutenant Governor, Sir Richard Gozney, brought the commemoration to a close by laying a wreath at the school’s Red Ribbon art installation.
During the week students were given a red ribbon and a name of one of the 1165 Manx soldiers who died in the Great War.
They displayed their ribbon and did research on the soldiers via the website Every One Remembered.
Head Teacher Annette Baker said: "In the weeks preceding Remembrance Day subject teams have engaged students in a number of activities to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One.
"Our Product Design team have produced soldier silhouettes which have been placed in the West Quad and in front of the school’s red ribbon art installation.
"The art, rural science and geography departments have created WW1 themed corridor displays, our music department has introduced students to the popular songs of that time and our English team has been working with students to produce poetry inspired by the events of 1914-18.
"The combined effect of these commemorative activities has been to ensure that the many young men who made the ultimate sacrifice in the First World War will never be forgotten by the students of Ramsey Grammar School."
