Praise for search dog Matt after he finds missing person

by isleofman.com 16th November 2018

Emergency services joined forces to search for a high risk missing person on Wednesday night.

Police called in the Search and Rescue Dog Association to help with their efforts at 11.35pm.

Dog handlers and search dogs Star, Holly and Matt were deployed.

After searching several areas Matt found the missing person – his handler Marc and navigator Ffinlo administered first aid.

A Coastguard rescue team then used their basket stretcher to carry the casualty to an ambulance.

A spokesperson for SARDA says: "Great team work by all involved, from the police and ESJCR coordinating the search and teams, SARDA in locating the person and the Coastguard assisting in the search and carrying the casualty out as well as the ambulance crew for treating the patient."
