Isle of Man Attractions - Stockcar racing

The place to go for stockcar racing is the Onchan Raceway in Onchan village.  Stockcar racing started on the oval track in 1969 and, over the years the venue has been steadily improved with the tarmac track being resurfaced in 1997 and various other improvements carried out such as new catch fencing and a pit and track entrance gate.

Events start around the middle of April and run throughout the summer with weekly race meetings.  There are ministox races for drivers aged between 10 and 16 years where the competitors progress up through the grades.  In addition you can expect to see Formula 2, Bangers, Rookie Bangers as well as Production Rods.

A charge is made for admission and spectators can watch the action from the two grandstands, as well as the concrete terracing and the grassed viewing areas.  Refreshments - hot food and drinks - are available during the events.
