With its strong sense of community involvement Ramsey is offering a packed programme of events and entertainment this spring and summer. The headline event is set to be Ramsey Carnival on Saturday July 22. Making a welcome return after an absence of many years the carnival will be taking to the streets, the procession departing from the swimming pool at Old River Road and making its way to Mooragh Park. Plans are well under way and more details will be posted on Ramsey Town Commissioners’ Facebook page soon.
Mooragh Park, will, as always, feature heavily in the programme of events this summer with live music at the Lakeside Centre, including performances from Ramsey Town Band, Douglas Town Band, Lancashire Youth Band, Balley Cushtal Brass, Crosby and District Silver Band and Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band. The park will also host a fun day on Sunday July 9 organised by Ramsey Rotary Club as part of the Ramsey National Week celebrations.
And in a nod to the TT, Ramsey Town Commissioners’ parks department has been putting the finishing touches to the re-built mini TT course-inspired putting green in the park, set to open very soon.
The town’s Courthouse Gardens will be the setting throughout the summer for Ramsey Courthouse Saturday Sessions: live performances every Saturday supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council including brass bands, youth bands, singers and musicians.

Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Andy Cowie said:
‘Ramsey has long had a tradition of offering a wide range of events for all the family thanks to the town’s enduring community spirit and the enviable setting of Mooragh Park and the Courthouse Gardens. These two landmark sites provide the perfect backdrop for showcasing local talent, welcoming visiting performers and hosting some of the island’s most popular sporting and community events, many of which help to raise funds for charity and transform people’s lives.
